According to state law, armed robbery is when a deadly weapon or firearm is used while committing the criminal offense of taking money, property, or assets from a person or the custody of another with intent to either temporarily or permanently deprive the individual or owner of the money or property by use of force, assault, violence, or instilling fear of physical harm of the victim or those associated with the victim.

In order to be convicted of armed robbery in Wisconsin, the court typically requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt that somebody else possessed the property in question, that the defendant took the property from the person in question with the intent to steal it, and that the defendant used or threatened to use a deadly weapon to take the property.
