Milwaukee Traffic Violations Lawyer

Put 20+ Years of Criminal Defense Experience on Your Side

Traffic tickets and violations come in all shapes and sizes. Their fines also vary by violation and county court. Enough traffic violations could put enough points on your driver’s license to earn a suspension and / or increase the cost of your vehicle insurance.

If you want to fight a traffic violation, let us help. Attorney Christopher J. Cherella is a skilled, dedicated, and aggressive advocate who can work to preserve your driving rights and help you avoid significant financial penalties.

Types of Traffic Violations We Can Handle Include the Following:

  • Speeding tickets
  • OWIs
  • Attempting to elude an officer
  • Reckless driving
  • Deviating from traffic lanes
  • Hit-and-runs
  • Inattentive driving
  • Operating with an expired license

Penalties

Each violation accrues demerit points on your driving record. When you accumulate 12 or more demerit points within a 12-month period, your driving privileges will be suspended. The amount of suspension time depends on the type of license you have.

Probationary Driver’s License

  • 12 to 30 points – 6-month suspension
  • More than 30 points — 1-year suspension

Regular Driver’s License or Commercial Driver’s License

  • 12 to 16 points – 2-month suspension
  • 17 to 22 points – 4-month suspension
  • 23 to 30 points – 6-month suspension
  • More than 30 points – 1-year suspension

Going without a license can be difficult, if not impossible. While occupational driver’s licenses might be available to some drivers, for others, they would have to rely on public transportation to get around.
